Welcome The Holiday Crowd And Maximize Your Hotel Room Occupancy

November 23, 2021

With more and more places in Southeast Asia slowly opening for more local and foreign tourists, hoteliers are scrambling to make their establishments more attractive to holiday crowds.

So how do you attract guests, maximize the holiday hotel demand, and increase end-of-year revenue?

1. Great decor draws in guests

In the age of Instagram and photo-sharing apps, beautiful interiors can attract guests. Incorporate your holiday theme inside common areas like the lobby, hallways, lounge, dining areas, and function halls. You can also create a photo area where guests can take vacation photos to share on their socials. Encourage a unique hashtag for your hotel for added user-generated content and marketing straight from your guests.

2. Create holiday-themed events for your guests

People who choose to celebrate the holidays out of town are expecting to switch up their routines and experience something new. Make the most out of the season by offering special holiday menus, limited edition treats, and exclusive mixers and parties (that follow health protocols). You can also offer private events that families can book during their stay. This is a great alternative to the holiday parties that outside establishments will also be hosting.

3. Highlight tourist spots in your hotel’s area

One of the best reasons for booking certain hotels is its proximity to tourist hotspots. If yours is near top attractions, advertise through your socials, newsletter, and brochures the places your guests can head to after checking-in. Take it one step further and offer a free tour or shuttle service at check-in if you can!

4. Offer a family or group long-stay holiday package

The holiday season usually has guests booking in groups and for longer periods. Create specific packages that offer the best value for money by reserving adjacent rooms, bigger suites, and child-friendly rooms for them.

5. Advertise early and have early-bird promos

Get reservations ahead of the holiday vacations. Increase your bookings early into the season with early-bird promos for people wanting to get away but also trying to avoid the bigger crowds towards the end of the month. Offer rooms and packages at discounted rates to sell out rooms during the weekdays and low-booking days to ensure you’re maximizing your occupancy.

6. Offer the best holiday room prices with a data-based pricing strategy

Just because demand is increasing and your hotel is offering a lot of perks don’t mean guests won’t be discerning when it comes to room prices. Make sure you’re also attracting them with the best value-for-money room rates.

ZEN Revenue Management Software's Dynamic Pricing  feature automatically adjusts your room prices on your online channels based on demand and supply, seasonality, customer behavior, and market trends to find the right price for every guest. And since the holiday season is one of the best and trickiest periods for hotels, an AI-operated software like ZEN RMS takes the bulk of the work while you enjoy smoother operations and increased profits.
